When a cat is purring (發(fā)出咕嚕聲), murmuring (小聲叫), meowing or yowling (吼叫), can you understand what it is trying to say to you? Susanne Schotz at Lund University, Sweden, did a research on cats’ language as well as how humans understand the “meowsic”. 當(dāng)一只貓發(fā)出咕嚕聲、小聲地喵喵叫或是吼叫的時(shí)候，你能理解它想說什么嗎？瑞典隆德大學(xué)的蘇珊娜·肖茨做了一項(xiàng)關(guān)于貓咪的語言以及人類如何理解“貓咪語”的研究。
According to the study, when cats want food from their owners, their sounds rise in pitch (音高). If the cats are worried about a trip to the vet (獸醫(yī)), they drop their pitch. She also found that human owners could usually guess the cats’ feelings from their sounds. It seems that when it comes to cats, practice makes purrfect! 研究發(fā)現(xiàn)，當(dāng)貓咪想吃東西時(shí)，它們會(huì)用更高的音調(diào)叫；害怕去見獸醫(yī)時(shí)，它們的音調(diào)則會(huì)較低。研究人員還發(fā)現(xiàn)，主人通常都可以從自家貓咪的音調(diào)明白它們想表達(dá)什么！看來，對(duì)于理解貓咪想法來說，熟能生巧！ 誰能拒絕一只喵喵叫的小貓咪呢！
